Saint Anthony and Saint Stephen Icons : ウィキペディア英語版 | Saint Anthony and Saint Stephen Icons
The Icons of Saint Anthony and Saint Stephen were created by Florentine painter and sculptor Bicci di Lorenzo, son of Florentine painter Neri di Bicci, between 1400-1450 in the city of Florence. It was made on poplar wood with gold sheet and tempura. It is the same as many of his other religious paintings including the painting of Saint John the Baptist and Saint Miniato which was made in this same time period at the beginning of the Renaissance. He put rocks on the head of Saint Stephen, which signifies the martyrdom of Saint Stephen who was stoned to death by a Jewish assembly after putting down Jewish teachings. It is displayed at the Legion of Honor Museum in San Francisco, California. ==References==
